How it all began.
Mike Konichek discovered his passion for the trades in 2005 and went on to found Thermal Exteriors in 2014. After spending over a decade as a subcontractor, he saw firsthand how many homeowners were being overcharged and underserved by the industry.
In 2025, Mike joined forces with Joel Eichhorn.
Joel comes from small-town Wisconsin roots and already had 16 years of exterior remodeling experience. He was searching for a more meaningful path after his former company lost its integrity to a private equity buyout.
Together, they built Thermal Exteriors around values that used to be standard: putting the customer first, using high-quality products, delivering expert craftsmanship, and genuinely helping people improve their homes and their lives.
